The search for Australia’s best kitchen

The appliance company Gaggenau has launched a design awards programme celebrating the best kitchens in Australia.

Gaggenau’s Kitchen of the Year Design Contest is open to professional kitchen designers, architects, interior designers, builders and developers from Australia.

Awards will go to the best kitchens in different regions (SA/WA/NT; VIC/TAS; NSW/ACT; QLD), and from these winners a “best of the best” kitchen will be chosen.

Each regional winner will receive a culinary experience for two people within Australia, while the national winner will receive a trip to Europe for two.

The entries will be judged by a panel including Sue Carr of Melbourne architecture and interiors firm Carr; Rajesh Nandan, publisher of Indesign Media Asia Pacific; Clement Lee, founder of Riverlee; Damian Hannah, kitchen designer; Miriam Fanning, Mim Design; and Neil Burley, Neil Burley Design.

Entries close 30 April, the shortlist will be announced on 29 July and the winners revealed in September.
