The Brisbane Open House 2026 program has been unveiled, with 93 buildings set to open to the public across the weekend of 18–19 July.
This year’s program welcomes the public into 205 North Quay by Hassell, REX and Richards and Spence, 443 Queen Street, Brisbane by WOHA, the National Rugby Training Centre, Ballymore by Blight Rayner Architecture and the Glasshouse Theatre at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre by Blight Rayner Architecture in partnership with Snøhetta.
Sixteen private homes will also open, including Balmoral Hillside House by Kieron Gait Architects, Harriet House by Bligh Graham Architects, Same Same but Different House by Maytree Studios and modernist favourite Eisenmenger House by Barry Walduck.
Other highlights include a 30-metre descent below ground to see of Brisbane’s new Cross River Rail Stations under construction.
Brisbane Open House co-chair Malcolm Middleton said this year’s event is unprecedented in scale and significance. “This is Brisbane Open House’s seventeenth year, and we’ve never had a program quite like this. All eyes are on Brisbane right now – the city is transforming at pace as we count down to 2032,” Middleton said. “There is no better way to experience the transformation than exploring the buildings that have shaped Brisbane’s past and are shaping its future, and hearing from the architects behind them.”
