EOI pursues emerging western Sydney practitioner for Bradfield City Design Review Panel

Expression of interests (EOI) are now open for the final member of the Bradfield City Design Review Panel, inviting applications from emerging architects, urban designers, landscape architects and planners with experience living or working in western Sydney.

According to a media communique, the panel aims to “ensure the city’s buildings, public spaces and neighbourhoods achieve the highest standards of design excellence from the earliest stages of development,” and currently includes architect Philip Graus, landscape architect and urban designer Bianca Pineda, architect and urban designer Matthew Bennett, and urban designer and architect Lucy Creagh.

With collective knowledge spanning architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, sustainability and major city-building projects, the Design Review Panel provides advice on projects delivered by Bradfield Development Authority (BDA) and its development partners.

The selected member will serve a two-year tenure starting in 2026, marking a “rare opportunity” for an emerging western Sydney designer – preferably with 10 to 15 years’ experience – to contribute to a project that is said to “help shape the future of the region.”

Bradfield Development Authority CEO Ken Morrison said, “Local knowledge and lived experience are essential to creating a city that reflects the communities it will serve. This appointment will ensure western Sydney perspectives are embedded alongside nationally recognised design expertise as Bradfield City continues to grow.”

The EOI closes 22 October and can now be accessed online.
