Architects, students, graduates and allied professionals are invited to have their say on their future vision for the architectural profession for an upcoming issue of Architecture Australia.
Set to be published later this year, the issue will feature a dossier guest-edited by Blake Hillebrand of Kerstin Thompson Architects and Gina Engelhardt of Hassell, exploring how the systems that shape the architecture profession need to shift in order to refocus architecture’s endeavours on a shared humanity.
As part of the dossier, the editors are seeking the industry’s opinion and inviting responses to the question: What do you hope the future of architecture will look like?
The world in 25 years’ time will be vastly different to what it is today. Twenty-five years ago we didn’t have smartphones, you could still buy a house on a single income, and we hadn’t yet awarded the Australian Institute of Architects’ Gold Medal to a woman. We ask you to imagine our future in 2050, and consider what you would like the architecture profession to look like then. What values do you think architects need to adopt to get there?
Architects, students, graduates and allied professionals are invited to submit responses of up to 100 words by Monday 23 June.
