The Australian Institute of Architects has launched a new survey, seeking feedback from its members on how current fuel, transport and related supply pressures are affecting architectural practice and project delivery across Australia.
According to the Institute, the survey is designed to capture real-time insights into impacts on project viability, material costs, supply chains, project timelines and the servicing of work across metropolitan, regional and remote areas.
Findings from the survey are being sought to help advise federal, state and territory governments, who are investigating procurement and policy settings, “to see what changes might help release on-the-ground pressures,” a communique from the Institute notes.
The Institute’s national president Adam Haddow said, “At a time when governments are focused on accelerating housing and infrastructure, it’s critical to recognise that instability in fuel, transport and supply chains directly affects what gets built, how quickly it gets built, and at what cost.”
The survey can be accessed and completed online until 6 May.
