The City of Perth has announced the appointment of local architect Nic Brunsdon, principal of Brunsdon Studio, as city architect.
Brunsdon brings over 25 years of experience spanning architecture, planning and urbanism, leading projects across Australia and South-East Asia. His studio was founded in 2015.
“With extensive experience delivering housing, cultural and hospitality projects and transforming underutilised buildings and vacant spaces into thriving hubs for small businesses, creatives and community initiatives, we’re excited for Nic to help us create more activated, welcoming and dynamic places across our city,” a communique from the City of Perth notes.
“Nic’s work will support high-quality planning, adaptive reuse and design-led development, helping create better public spaces, stronger local economies and a more liveable City of Perth for everyone.”
The role of city architect in Perth was previously held by Craig Smith, principal of Craig Smith Architect, who served for almost 20 years, having been appointed in 2007.
