The vision for a new development titled “One Broadbeach,” set to deliver 952 residences to the Gold Coast, has been unveiled. Designed by Plus Studio, the project comprises one-to-three-bedroom dwellings spanning two towers linked by a shared, landscaped podium.
The scheme imagines the pair of towers rendered with contrasting finishes distinguishing the two forms. The southern tower is designed to reflect the warm gold tones of the coast and its sunlit beaches, while the taller northern tower’s deeper bronze palette intends to reference the character of the city skyline.
According to a media communique the tower’s “curved corners, curtain wall glazing and sculptural facade openings suggest a softer, more dynamic appearance.” Beneath this, an arched podium creates a landscaped entrance centred on a large atrium. The open-air feature is designed to invite natural light into the podium, creating an interactive relationship between the architecture, landscape and pedestrians.
One Broadbeach also sees the construction of pool and spa facilities, communal terraces, private dining, a library, a lounge, work-from-home spaces, and nearly 1,200 square metres of ground floor retail and hospitality occupancies.
Proposed on the beachfront, directly across from the Gold Coast Convention Centre, the development is intended to fit within a context of wellbeing- and lifestyle-focussed amenities.
“Broadbeach is a world-class address that gives us the canvas to create a community of exceptional design and lifestyle quality that genuinely enriches the daily lives of the people who call it home,” Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, group CEO of UAE-based master developer Arada, said.
Director at Plus Studio Danny Juric said, “Light does most of the work on this building. Gold to the south, bronze to the north, and a curtain wall that reads one way at seven in the morning and another way at six in the evening. The drama is there, softened. What matters as much is what happens at the base. The arched podium and the atrium give something back to Broadbeach rather than closing off the block.”
The construction team behind Roberts Co aim to have One Broadbeach completed ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
