    “A Famous Milanese Renaissance Girl, with Red Brushstrokes, Pixel and a Pointer” by Ozmo in Milan, Italy.

    Born in Pontedera, Italy Ozmo made his first steps in the comics world, but since early 90s he soon moved his focus on writing and painting. In short time his tag would have become one of the most famous and respected ones in the Italian graffiti scene. A special reportage dedicated to Ozmo on ‘Aelle’ – the most famous urban culture underground mag in Italy – will consacrate him as one of the leading figure in the national underground writing scene.Ozmo is now based in Paris. He returns to Milan, the adopted city that has welcomed him in the most decisive years of his artistic career, and he does so symbolically bringing home a masterpiece of Italian Renaissance art: The Lady with the Ermine of Leonardo da Vinci which has been in Poland for two centuries.To dominate the view of the Milanese architecture of Corso XXII Marzo, ready to attract and direct the gaze of passers-by, from now on there will be, in fact, A famous Milanese Renaissance girl, with red brushstrokes, pixel and a pointer, a monumental reinterpretation and recontextualization of the Leonardesca Lady, unchanged in its beauty and elegance of the fifteenth century, but enriched by the journey that, through the centuries, led her to be reborn under the gaze of an artist of today, to relive in the homage that Ozmo makes to the city and its history.It is precisely in Milan, in fact, that Leonardo da Vinci creates some of his most famous masterpieces, capable of changing Italian portraiture. In this context of research and innovation, of artistic and cultural ferment, his Lady with Ermine was born.The project continues the conceptual and aesthetic path undertaken many years ago, which holds together the link between the artist and the historical, historical-artistic and cultural Italian tradition, and his ever-living desire to actualize it.  A famous Milanese Renaissance girl, with red brushstrokes, pixels and a pointer, is enriched with new artistic elements and new points of reflection.With tools typical of the computer world, such as pixels and pointers, but made with brush and spraypaint, Ozmo conceals, highlights or changes elements of the original work, bringing it into contact with the current era and the languages recognized by today’s society. With a red sign that runs along the surface, Ozmo consolidates the link between the pictorial intervention and the architectural context, and harmoniously binds all the artistic elements, giving the city a new public work.The mural  has been realized with the support of the association Street is Culture and the social cooperative of EST – Enosteria sociale , which, in a public housing in the center of Milan, recovers people from difficult contexts, and  it does so by integrating itself in the environment through the art and work. It’s precisely his mission, to bring art where it is not usable, to give life to the collaboration with Ozmo.       “CONVECTIVE MOTIONS” by Gola Hundun in Milan, Italy

      Italian artist Gola Hundun just recently finished his latest mural in Milan, Italy during  the INNESCHI Festival. The project is dedicated to the universal cyclic movement. The composition starts from a central element, identified as cosmic energy, a solar force that unravels centrifugally.Leaves are painted as if they were part of a fire explosion, following and growing the movement which consequently generates new ones, involving other celestial bodies, represented on the contiguous facades, symbolically returning towards the central sun in a perpetual cyclical movement. The three stars represent the three circles of the Celtic Triskele.The motion represented overcomes its two-dimensionality and becomes real, physical and tangible through the call of the avifauna, invited to take part in the universal movement through the installation of clay nests I realized with the citizens of Vimodrone according to the needs of the species of birds of the area indicated by LIPU Milano.The whole composition includes some endemic plants (useful for insects) and some grass, bushes, hornbeams, dogwoods, hazels, hawthorns and an English oak placed in axis with the tree painted on the wall. The tree of life represented is the same you can find into monotheistic or rather pagan religions. The two trees will be set in two movement: the painted one will be crystallized where as the real tree will grow up inexorably.The mural will be gradually hidden by the vegetation growing that will be set as a curtain – representing the time. The artwork can be put itself into the eternal cycle of life, hence it can not be defined as done, due to its vulnerability to the universal movement of existence.Gola Hundun’s work shows the relationship between human beings and the biosphere. This consideration combined with the conscious decision to live as a vegetarian since the age of 16, positions the artist and his work closer to both the animal and human spheres.       “Endless Knot” by 2501 in Milan, Italy

      Italian artist Jacopo Ceccarelli aka 2501 recently worked on a mural located in the facade of a building in Marco Polo, district of Milan. “The endless knot has various meanings in the Tibetan tradition, but most of all, it reminds me the inter-twining of wisdom and compassion” 2501 said.

      He dedicates this mural in memory of Lama Gangchen Tulku Rimpoche, a 78-year-old guru, founder, and guide of the Albagnano Healing Meditation Centre on Lake Maggiore,who died last April after contracting the coronavirus.

      Embarked in a quest for blank spaces, 2501 experiments with lines, shapes and motion in free compositions that show strictness all the while breaking art codes.
      His works are visually stunning, diving head first into the essence of line art through his use of monochromatic color schemes that emphasize his technique. 2501’s street pieces are elegant and clean making it pop from the usually busy public settings he implements them. The visual impact of his style and the intriguing ambiguity which comes from his use of figureless forms makes 2501’s art one of the most exciting and recognizable in today’s contemporary art scene.

      “Il mondo di sopra” by VESOD in Milan,Italy

      Vesod just recently finished a new mural in Piazzale Selinunte, Milan. This artwork is part of the Arte a San Siro project. Vesod’s mural features children on swings over twisting birds-eye-view urbanscapes. “Art in Sancero” is a project that includes realizing frescoes on the facade of the buildings of the region to revive it aesthetically and dynamically; open to artistic influences as well, and coming from a variety of cultures.
      Vesod Brero is a street artist from Turin. His artistic attitude has been fostered by his father Dovilio Brero, surrealistic painter, whose influence has an impact on Vesod since his youth: he has been therefore developing an interest in the graffiti world since the beginning of the 90s. Maths, which is the subject he got his graduation in, has an important impact on his works along with renaissance art and futurism. This can be recognized in Vesod’s attempt to harmonize anatomic proportion and futuristic dynamics.

      Nomad Carpet by Guerrilla Spam in Milan, Italy

      One of the most active and committed artistic projects in Italy is certainly the one best known as Guerrilla Spam. It was born in 2010 in Florence (Tuscany), in the form of spontaneous poster art in urban spaces where artworks were not often signed. Within a few years, the artistic collective gained visibility and attracted the attention of archaeological and contemporary art museums all over the country.
      The project today alternates the practice of poster art, paste up to public muralism interventions in Italy and abroad, by creating artistic and educational projects focused on the importance of the theme of migration . We enter in Guerrilla Spam imaginary by discovering the beauty of different cultures living in the same geographical territory

      Their latest work, Nomad Carpet, was designed site specific for the project Imagine Piazza Tirana curated by BASE Milano and Bepart with the contribution of the Municipality of Milan.
      Piazza Tirana and its basketball court have become a sort of Monument of the imagination, coloring itself with digital figures and animations with the aim of transforming the visual narrative of Giambellino, an emblematic neighborhood on the southwestern outskirts of Milan. Thanks to the support of the guys living in the neighborhood, the basketball court has maintained its sporting function alongside the decorative one.

      The concept of the work is told to us by one of the protagonists of the collective:

      ” The carpet is an object that has always performed two parallel functions: a practical and an ornamental one. It was born and developed among the nomadic populations, who change settlements frequently and who, with the carpet, move the soil of their home. It is a daily object that must be used: it is the space on which we meet to talk, eat, where weddings and holidays are celebrated, where we sleep and pray.
      But the carpet is also an artistic object that decorates and beautifies the space, which identifies a certain family, village or culture of origin based on colors and symbols.
      The metaphor of the carpet is used here to redefine a space, in particular a basketball court, transforming it into a new place for the community, a new meeting place. Just like on a carpet you can meet in this new ideal square to be together “.
