The Western Australian government is calling for expressions of interest from built environment professionals to join the state’s Design Review Panel.
The panel’s role is to assess and provide advice on significant projects across the state against the principles of the Design WA guidelines.
Since it was established in 2019, the panel has reviewed more than 50 projects. The original panel of more than 50 members are due to conclude their terms in January 2022 and a new panel will be appointed for a term of two years.
“Perth is creating places and buildings that draw global attention and widespread industry acclaim for their architecture, function and innovation, as we have seen from the award-winning WA Museum Boola Bardip and a range of other buildings, venues and projects,” said WA planning minister Rita Saffioti.
“We are seeking experts across a number of disciplines to review proposals and provide design advice ensuring key projects, including those delivered through Metronet and the Perth City Deal, are top quality designs.”
The government is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified built environment design experts from the fields of architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning.
Members will be called on to review projects based on areas of expertise, availability and a balance of experience and independence.
Applications can be made on the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage website.
