The Australian Institute of Architects has postponed the 2020 National Architecture Conference until later in the year, with no replacement date announced.
In a message to members, the Institute apologised for the decision, which was made in light of “current and ongoing developments surrounding travel bans and restrictions.”
Themed “Leverage,” the conference was to take place in Perth in May. Justine Clark, Maryam Gusheh, Emma Williamson and Kieran Wong are the creative directors, and most of the speakers so far announced are based overseas.
The conference joins a list of prominent design events that have been postponed in recent weeks as a consequence of the COVID-19 outbreak, including the Milan Furniture Fair and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
