Entries are now being accepted for the Australian Urban Design Awards 2026, an awards program established in 1996 that honours exemplary contributions to urban design across Australia.
Submissions can be entered across four categories: Built Outcomes, Strategic Design and Policy, Research and Advocacy and Urban Design Champions.
- Built Outcomes recognises an outstanding work of city-building that exemplifies an urban design project as a catalyst, improving what exists and anticipating what may come
- Research and Advocacy celebrates exceptional urban design research or advocacy initiatives that has broad applicability for improving preformance and quality of life in urban communities
- Strategic Design and Policy acknowledges strategic design or policy that will transform that will transform the performance of an urban place and improve the quality of life of communities
- The Urban Design Champions category honours individuals who have made a measurable impact on the design and performance of our cities, working collaboratively to improve the quality of life of communities.
The winners of the 2025 Built Outcomes category were Central Park Public Domain by Turf Design Studio with Jeppe Aagaard Andersen; Mary’s Place, Dalby by Blight Rayner Architecture in association with Wild Studio and Rozelle Parklands by Transport for NSW Urban Design.

The Australian Urban Design Awards are co-convened by the Australian Institute of Architects, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the Planning Institute of Australia, and supported by principal partner Bondor Metecno and supporting partner Dulux.
