DIA announces support for Voice to Parliament

The Design Institute of Australia’s board has announced its support for enshrining an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice in the Constitution, ahead of the upcoming referendum to be held on 14 October, 2023.

Although unreservedly supports the “yes” position, it said they recognize and are respectful of the fact that members of the DIA community are likely to have diverse perspectives and views, and may not all vote “yes.”

They encouraged everyone to engage in this important democratic process through thoughtful dialogue and informed discussion, and with respect for First Nations people.

The DIA board of directors comprises Gavin Campbell (president/chair), Beck Davis, Louise Williamson and Ryan Russell (member directors), and Michael Rich and James Samargis (independent director).
