The 2021 Eat Drink Design Awards is calling for nominations of nationally significant hospitality venues to be inducted into the awards’ Hall of Fame.
Each year since 2012, the Hall of Fame accolade recognizes enduring excellence in the design of a hospitality venue that is of more than ten years standing.
The hospitality industry is often characterized by transience, and therefore, such longevity is extraordinary. The award recognizes design innovation for its time, creative leadership, technical advancement and the project’s national significance as a hospitality venue.
Past inductees are Jimmy Watson’s Wine Bar (Robin Boyd and Frederick Romberg, 1962), Cafe Di Stasio (Allan Powell Architects, 1988), Meyers Place (Six Degrees, 1994), Icebergs (Lazzarini Pickering, 2002), Il Bacaro (Chris Connell Design, 1994), Fratelli Paradiso (Mike Murphy with Mike Hanna and Don Cameron, 2001), Cookie (Phillip Schemnitz Architect, 2003), Cumulus Inc (Pascale Gomes-McNabb, 2008) and Gin Palace (Skidmark Designs with Garner Davis Architects, 1997).
