Australian projects shortlisted in WAF Special Prizes

The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced the 2022 Special Prize shortlist, selected from the greater WAF Awards shortlist and shining a light on submissions that exhibit an outstanding use of engineering, colour, natural light and certified timber.

The Special Prize shortlist also includes the Small Project of the Year Prize and sees the introduction of two inaugural prizes: the Futureglass Prize supported by Aestech, and the Royal Fine Arts Commission Trust International Building Beauty Prize supported by Ballymore.

WAF said this year’s entrants celebrate creative colour in eyecatching ways; recognize the best use of natural light to enhance human wellbeing; celebrate glass and glass technology in innovative ways; demonstrate timber use in educational and artistic manners; and push the envelope in builing engineering and design.
