Architectus and UK firm Wilkinson Eyre have designed an office tower at 600 Collins Street, Melbourne, in the city’s commercial district.
The proposed tower will stand at 180 metres tall and cover 70 metres of Collins Street frontage with a “striking curved facade”. The design statement said the contextual tower and podium form “draw the eye across [the] articulated facades”, creating a sculptural addition the Melbourne skyline.
Designed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the design considers the function of a modern office building. It will incorporate principles of biophilic design and sustainable workplaces.

The tower will also accommodate rooftop terraces and outdoor spaces, conferencing and collaboration zones, wellness centres and open, green space.
The design aims to enhance the laneways of its CBD location with the creation of new pedestrian connection and improved public realm. Wilkinson Eyre director Dominic Jettison said the design looks to “build the Melbourne tradition of the laneway, sculpting out a generously proportioned and inviting new thoroughfare that connects to the local area and offers a lively hospitality scene.”
The building is targeting highest sustainability credentials with a 6 Star Green Star and 6 Star Nabers energy rating as well as a Platinum WELL Certification.
Construction is expected to begin in January 2023.
