DKO Architecture’s design for a 25-storey tower complex at 26 Mann Street, Gosford on the NSW Central Coast has been placed on public exhibit.
The first stage of the $150 million Central Coast Quarter development, which comprises three towers all designed by DKO. The towers would accommodate 136 apartments and retail uses on a site that links the CBD with the waterfront.
In planning documents, the architects describe a building that “protects and promotes the fine grain retail of Mann Street to establish a new benchmark for an active and functional city spine.”
“The built form draws upon and celebrates Gosford’s unique identity to facilitate an attractive and desirable setting for both its residents and the public realm.”

The development would sit directly across from the Gosford Leagues Club Park, recently transformed by landscape architects Turf Design Studio in collaboration with the Darkinjung Aboriginal Land Council.
Turf Design Studio is also the landscape architect for the 26 Mann Street proposal, and the ground plane has been designed as a “grand urban space,” facilitating public use through the selection of hard and softscape elements including bleacher seating, cycle parking and planting.
The tower would be broken down into two distinctive forms to reduce the visual bulk, with a curved building facade along the future Baker Street extension addressing views of Brisbane Waters over the park. It would sit atop a three-storey podium, with communal open space on top.
The state-significant development application is on public exhibit until 18 October.
