The Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) is calling for entries to its 2022 AGDA Design Awards, which recognize the creative best work in Australia across a range of design disciplines.
The program is aimed at furthering design discussion and stimulating creative progress across the industry and recognizes all talent, from students through to established leaders in the profession.
There are 19 major awards categories, from brand and identity through to spatial design and wayfinding, with each category harbouring a number of subcategories to acknowledge all walks of creative achievements.
The three main criteria for the assessment of entries include: innovation and expression of idea; execution of the concept; and relevance to intended audience.One project will be awarded Best in Show, exhibiting the highest standard of creativity, craft, and communication.
The 2021 awards recipients included a “rigorous, detailed and thoroughly considered” publication of Robin Boyd’s late works, and a laboratory for responsible good design and a motion picture animation for Amazon.
Both AGDA members and non-members are eligible to apply for the awards, which will be judged by leading members of the communication design industry. To be eligible, entries need to have been delivered between 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022.
Final entries close 31 August, with finalists announced 15 October ahead of the awards ceremony on 12 November.
