Entries open for 2022 Victorian Premier's Design Awards

Entries for the 26th Victorian Premier’s Design Awards will open soon, showcasing excellence from talent across the spectrum of design disciplines.

Submissions are welcome from applicants across architecture, product design, communications, design strategy, fashion, digital, service design, and as well as tertiary design students.

Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson said the awards provide the opportunity to unearth new talent and showcase the latest in innovative design thinking.

“The Victorian Premier’s Design Awards celebrate the brilliant minds and innovative products that see the Victorian design sector stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best,” said Minister Pearson.

“Victorians have a proud history in creating iconic and ubiquitous designs, I can’t wait to see this year’s entrants as they showcase the most compelling projects Victoria’s design industry has to offer.”

Town Hall Broadmeadows by Kerstin Thompson Architects in collaboration with Hume City Council received best in category for architectural design in 2021.

All best-in-category winners will go into the running for the coveted Victorian Premier’s Design of the Year, awarded to the project that most embodies excellence in design and innovation.

Submissions to the 2022 awards will be judged by a jury of national and international experts, with winners announced at the awards presentation ceremony during Melbourne Design Week in March 2023.

Entries for the 2022 Premier’s Design Awards are open from Monday, 6 June and close on 29 July.
