Humanscale and Kvadrat launch new ergonomic seating ranges

A collaboration between office seating designer and manufacturer Humanscale and Danish textile company Kvadrat sees the introduction of nine new upholstery offerings.

Aligned through shared values of innovation, longevity and sustainability, the collaboration combines colour, texture and pattern with ergonomic, functional and efficient design.

Each textile variation is manufacted from quality raw materials to ensure product longevity and and minimal impact on the environment. The seating solutions will be available in nine textiles including Vanir by Raf Simons, Elle from SAHCO, Arda from Kvadrat Febrik, Remix 3, Reflect, Hallingdal 65, Steelcut Quartet, Steelcut Trio 3, and Coda 2.

Humanscale’s creative director, Todd Bracher said the uniting of the two brands “marks an exciting creative journey to ignite meaningful change on an industrial scale. Our shared values of design innovation, longevity, and sustainability make this partnership a perfect fit.”

The partnership between Humanscale and Kvadrat goes beyond product design to promoting sustainable practice and environmental responsibility. Both companies have committed to reducing their carbon emissions through planet positive material sourcing and minimising the environmental footprint of manufacturing. Kvadrat CEO Anders Byriel said both brands share a compatible desire to achieve sustainable outcomes through rethinking approaches to design. “We are looking forward to developing our collaboration with Humanscale in promoting wellbeing and connectivity and building this truly global partnership.”

The upholstery variations have been released in Humanscale’s Freedom seating collection, followed by the Smart Ocean, Liberty Ocean and Trea Chair ranges in November and the Summa, Smart Conference and Path ranges in early 2024.
