Tickets are now on sale for the next Design Speaks event, “A Broader Landscape,” which will interrogate how architects practising in Australia use (or misuse) the term “landscape” to many different ends.
The discussion will expand and evolve our understanding of the specific histories and practices that have enabled our occupation of this land for millennia, while exploring the ways we can amplify our ideas about landscape to inform architectural practice.
Curated by Kerstin Thompson of Kerstin Thompson Architects (KTA) and Phillip Arnold of Plus Minus Design, the event will present a multidisciplinary line-up from across Australia and abroad, to scrutinize our relationship with the land.
The event program includes an all-day symposium, taking place on Friday 18 November at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and a tour of Bundanon Art Museum led by Kerstin Thompson on Saturday 19 November. Patrons can choose to purchase a ticket for the symposium alone, or for the symposium and tour, and discounts apply to those who register as a group.
Five formal CPD points will also be offered to those who attend the all-day symposium. Tickets are non-refundable; however, they can be transferred to another’s name if necessary.
Design Speaks offers stimulating talks, seminars, forums and conferences, providing a platform for architecture and design experts to share their provocative ideas and design philosophies.
