The Australian Institute of Architects has partnered with appliance manufacturer Smeg in a competition to win a trip to the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale.
The Smeg Tour Competition provides an opportunity for four winners to attend the Biennale and to participate in a tour Smeg’s headquarters in Guastalla and exploring the architecture of the Emilia Romagna region.
Entrants are invited to submit a kitchen design project to be considered for the prize.
“The Australian Institute of Architects are delighted to partner with Smeg and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with the ultimate goal of supporting and celebrating Australian architecture,” said the Institute’s general manager Michael Linke.
Smeg Australia head of marketing, Livia McRoberts, said, “We see the Australian Institute of Architects partnership as an adjunct to our long tradition of architectural collaborations, offering genuine design choice to suit all styles and tastes. We look forward to working closely with the Australian Institute of Architects to support the architectural community.”
Entrants must register as individuals, rather than as practices, and entries should be from a residential project completed from 1 January 2020 to close of competition on 31 December 2022.
