What the gallery says: “‘How do you see the world after this?’ Kamel Mennour asked this question to children around the world, from kindergarten to 12th grade to answer it by drawing their visions on an A4 sheet of paper. Those drawings are now shown from May 23 for the reopening exhibition of the gallery, alongside the works on paper by the artists of the gallery, and will all be sold at the same fixed price. And all the funds raised will go to the Fondation Abbé Pierre and the Necker Hospital.”
Why it’s worth a look: Right now, it’s difficult to imagine where we go from here: There’s a global pandemic raging, demonstrators around the world protesting police brutality, and, on top of it all, political elections taking across the US. At moments like this, sometimes the best answers are the simplest, and who better to articulate those than children?
Kids say the darndest things, and, it turns out, make some pretty great art too. See their illustrations answering the question “How do you see the world after this?” below.
