Architect sought for Benalla Art Gallery redevelopment

Benalla Rural City Council has announced it is accepting tenders from experienced architects to design the Benalla Art Gallery Redevelopment.

The Benalla Art Gallery is a public gallery located within the Benalla Botanical Gardens in regional Victoria.

Established in 1968, the Benalla Art Gallery was originally designed by Philip Sargeant and Colin Munro and is the cornerstone of the region’s creative culture, housing a collection of three centuries of Australian art and a selection of European decorative works.

Council is seeking tenderers to deliver two outcomes for the existing space: a masterplan design for the future redevelopment of the gallery, to be delivered in a staged approach, and detailed architectural drawing for stage one of the redevelopments.

Funding for the first stage of the redevelopment has been allocated by the Victorian Government to enhance the gallery entry, lift the staff and back-of-house spaces, and augment the existing cafe facilities.

Tenders close Friday 18 March at 2 pm.

To access the tender documents, register via the Benalla Rural City Council e-tendering website.
