Royal Oak Floors opens showroom in Surry Hills

Royal Oak Floors has opened a showroom in Surry Hills, designed by leading Australian designer We Are Triibe. The Sydney showroom is the second Royal Oak Floors store, supporting the flagship store in South Yarra, Melbourne.

Royal Oak Floors by Harper and Sandilands has 40 years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge in design and construction, which comes together in this showroom.

The showroom design sought to create a calming, interactive space. This has been achieved by applying the timber flooring in different and unexpected ways. The display highlights the many shades, textures, depths, light enhancements and mood shifts of timber flooring.

The space allows visitors to consult with the design team in a private meeting room or sit around a large custom-made limestone table to mix and match finishes. The interior furnishings were curated by designer furniture store In Good Company.

Floorboards are a strong feature, adding value and architectural appeal.

We Are Triibe often utilizes engineered timber flooring by Royal Oak Floors to elevate retail spaces and flood them with light. This enhances the experience of visiting the spaces while retaining the durable aspects of the flooring.

Architect Madeleine Blanchfield utilized Royal Oak Floors’ White Smoked floorboards in her Bronte family home, The Tree House, to make a soft visual connection between spaces with the floorboards’ “muted, milky-white finish and textural warmth.”

In contrast, Melbourne architect Bryant Alsop went for Royal Oak Floors’ Toasted Oak floorboards alongside Scandinavian-inspired warm timbers to restore a heritage cottage in Hawthorn.
