Institute calls for panellists to join 2024 architecture conference

The Australian Institute of Architects has issued an open call for potential panellists to join the line-up for the 2024 Australian Architecture Conference.

The conference steering committee has selected five pressing topics that will be explored through panel discussions: communication, legislation, artificial intelligence, climate action and First Nations performance criteria.

The Institute is seeking expressions from members with extensive experience in those topics to share their perspectives and insights.

Selected panellists will receive complimentary passes to the two-day conference, as well as $500 towards travel and accommodation. Expressions of interest are open until 10 April.

The 2024 Australian Architecture Conference will be held in Melbourne from 8 to 11 May. The conference will explore tops of circular and sustainable architecture, the worldwide housing crisis, and how architects are redefining conventions to shape the future.

Barbara Bestor (Bestor Architecture, USA), Paul Monaghan (Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), UK), Yasmeen Lari (Heritage Foundation Pakistan and Chair of INTBAU, Pakistan), Louise Wright and Mauro Baracco (Baracco and Wright Architects, Australia), Alberto Veiga (Barozzi Veiga, Spain), David Kaunitz and Ka Wai Yeung (Kaunitz Yeung Architecture, Australia), Guillermo Fernández-Abascal (GFA2 and University of Sydney, Australia), Eliza Higgins and Cyrus Pattell (Collective Projects, Bangalore), and Ben Berwick (Prevalent, Australia).
